I went to the surgery in the morning and saw Dr Lapa with a swollen elbow he diagnosed tennis elbow straight away and gave me options on how to treat my condition either with tablets or an injection I opted for the injection which he gave me later that day .I can't find fault with any of treatment I received that day from the receptionist to the treatment Dr Lapa gave me and would recommend this surgery to family and friends .
Most of my experiences with this surgery have been very positive and helpful. I do find some of the receptionists rude, unprofessional and don't interact with patients with dignity and respect. They are often chatting away with phones ringing, I've watched them and experienced myself; discussing medical conditions/ailments with little regard to privacy at the counter and over the phone. One occasion, I was waiting to check in and the receptionist confirmed the callers name and address and then went on to explain that she didn't need to come in to the surgery if she thinks she has Chlamydia!! I went to collect a prescription on one occasion for an embarrassing condition, the lady found my prescription and asked me to confirm my address and then calls out from the prescription holder on the wall, over the counter "is it for .............". I left there totally embarrassed and really annoyed. The open planned desk isn't conducive to 'privacy' and poorly trained staff shouting out embarrassing prescription details or reading out/confirming someone's name and address at the counter and then discussing personal medical conditions isn't good practice!
The GP's are generally great, I have no complaints about them or the nursing staff. I have always felt treated with total respect and dignity and I would like to add that Dr Jay was amazingly helpful and compassionate and helped me deal with a seriously sensitive issue with total professionalism and care.
I would use and recommend this surgery, but I would urge that the practice manager reviews training of reception staff and the reception environment for the privacy.
The doctor I think it's spelt Dr Lapa was absolutely useless. He was disinterested in what I had to say on previous health issues that pertained to my illness. He was rude and failed miserably to diagnose a simple infection. Needless to say I walked straight out of there and registered with another surgery oh and he was an hour late with all his appointments. I would avoid this practice like the plague!!
I have used this surgery for many years now and have never found any problems. The recepionists are really helpfull and friendly. I have never had problems getting appointments, especially when it is urgent. It is always clean and tidy in there. The nurses too are always friendly and careing.
The doctors took a long time in their room in between patients and even popped out to Reception to have a chat with Receptionists at one point. Not convenient, when one has plans that are then disrupted and caused us to be late.
